The 38th edition of the Take Care - Surakemu Maga Thota road safety awareness programme was successfully conducted on October 3rd at Prince College, Rathnapura. This vital initiative, carried out under the Clean Sri Lanka project, is a collaborative effort by the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, Independent Television Network (ITN), and the Sri Lanka Police, aiming to educate school children on road safety.
During the programme, the Sri Lanka Police led both theory and practical sessions focused on educating students about road safety measures, arming them with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate roads safely. These sessions emphasized responsible behavior and adherence to traffic rules to reduce accidents and foster safer communities.
The Take Care - Surakemu Maga Thota initiative seeks to instill a culture of safety among young road users by targeting schools across the country. The partnership among government agencies and media organizations is crucial in delivering this impactful message effectively.
The success of the 38th edition at Prince College marks another meaningful milestone in nurturing awareness and responsibility among Sri Lanka's future generations of road users, contributing to the broader goals of the Clean Sri Lanka project aimed at safer roads for all.
