The 39th edition of the Road Safety Awareness Session under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative was successfully held at St. Andrew Central College,Puththalam on October 08, 2025 marking another milestone in the national campaign to instill safe road practices among school students.

The event was jointly organized by the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, the Sri Lanka Police, and the Independent Television Network (ITN), reinforcing the continuing partnership among key national institutions committed to promoting road discipline and saving young lives.

This awareness session, conducted under the theme “Take Care – Let’s Be Safe on the Road” aimed to educate schoolchildren on road ethics, traffic regulations, accident prevention, and responsible pedestrian behavior. Participants were engaged through demonstrations and interactive discussions highlighting the importance of alertness and respect for road rules in daily commuting.

Addressing the students, representatives from the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat emphasized that road safety is not merely a legal obligation but a moral responsibility shared by every citizen. Officers from the Sri Lanka Police educated students on the significance of wearing helmets, using pedestrian crossings correctly, and adhering to traffic signals.

The Clean Sri Lanka national initiative continues to integrate social responsibility, discipline, and ethical conduct as part of its broader campaign to nurture a safer and more civic minded generation.
