Road Safety

The 47th edition of the “Take Care – Surakemu Maga Thota” Road Safety Awareness Program, targeting school children, was successfully held on October 23, 2025, at Mihinthale Maha Vidyalaya in the North Central Province.

This national initiative, organized jointly by the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, the Ministry of Education, the Sri Lanka Police, and the Independent Television Network (ITN), aims to raise awareness on road safety practices among school children and encourage responsible behavior on the road.

The program is part of an islandwide initiative under which 100 awareness programs are scheduled to be conducted throughout the year, reaching schools across the country. Through interactive sessions, demonstrations, and discussions, students gain practical knowledge on traffic regulations, pedestrian safety, and the importance of disciplined conduct on the road.

The “Take Care – Surakemu Maga Thota” series continues to play a vital role in fostering a culture of road safety and contributing to the broader goal of creating a safer environment for all road users.
