"A Happy Country Clean Sri Lanka From Village to Village", for a Better Tomorrow

Clean Sri Lanka Gamin Gamata-Kolonnawa

A special public welfare program under the theme "A Happy Country Clean Sri Lanka From Village to Village" was held recently in Kolonnawa. This was organized by the Colombo District Secretariat, Kolonnawa Divisional Secretariat, Kolonnawa Municipal Council, and Kotikawatta-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha under the  Clean Sri Lanka National Program. The event was centered at the historic Veheragoda Rajamaha Viharaya and Veheragoda Dharmavijaya Vidyalaya in Kolonnawa and led by the Deputy Minister of Urban Development, Hon. Eranga Gunasekara.

The program offered the local community services including medical clinics for detection and referral of non communicable diseases, screening and referral for cervical cancer, eye and dental clinics, special indigenous medical treatment programs, and awareness sessions on tuberculosis and sexually transmitted diseases.

Additionally, rehabilitation and awareness programs addressed drug prevention, child abuse and violence against women, mental health development, and promotion of indigenous nutrition. Special sessions also focused on the duties and social responsibilities of three wheeler drivers.

These initiatives are part of the comprehensive effort under the Clean Sri Lanka program to enhance public health, social welfare, and community responsibility.
