North Central Tuk Tuk Srivers Training

The inaugural event of a provincial level training programme to elevate the ethical standards and service quality of three wheeler (Tuk tuk) drivers operating in Sri Lanka’s tourism sector was held in the North Central Province on November 6, 2025, at the North Central Provincial Council Auditorium. The initiative forms part of the Clean Sri Lanka National Programme, which aims to foster professional conduct and superior service across key sectors.

The event was organized by the North Central Province Chief Ministry along with the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat and was attended by prominent officials, including Mr. Muditha Prasanna, Chairman of the North Central Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authority, Mr. D.M.J. Dissanayake, Director (Administration) of the North Central Provincial Chief Ministry, and Chief Police Inspector Mr. Mohammed Niyas of Anuradhapura Police Station, among other dignitaries.

More than 280 tourism sector three wheeler professionals participated and received targeted training focused on ethics, best practices, and improved customer care. The Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat has set an ambitious goal to train a total of 1,100 tourism-sector three wheeler drivers within the North Central Province during 2025.

This initiative marks an important step toward strengthening professional standards in Sri Lanka’s tourism sector and supporting a cleaner, more welcoming experience for visitors nationwide.
