The "National Integrity Week - 2025" is scheduled to be held in December under the theme "A culture of integrity - A Clean Sri Lanka" as part of the national Clean Sri Lanka programme initiated by the government with the vision of "A Beautiful Country - Smiling People." This programme aims to promote good civic ethics and foster a society-wide culture of transparency and integrity, contributing to the building of a cleaner Sri Lanka.
Marking International Anti-Corruption Day on December 9th, National Integrity Week seeks to instill integrity as a national culture beyond merely enforcing anti-corruption laws by encouraging honest, disciplined conduct and positive transformation in public attitudes and behaviors. It aspires to foster integrity as a crucial factor determining social, ethical, and environmental development within the country.
A special discussion on this National Integrity Week was convened today at the Presidential Secretariat under the leadership of the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumaranayake. The discussion focused on developing a successful and sustainable programme series for the upcoming years in alignment with National Integrity Week.
Alongside the major programmes organized by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) in connection with International Anti-Corruption Day, special attention was given to delegating responsibility for other programmes to respective ministries and finalizing these initiatives.
Officials representing multiple ministries—including the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Ministry of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Training, Ministry of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development, Ministry of Trade, Commerce, Food Security and Co-operative Development—and commissioners from CIABOC participated in the discussion.
