The third day of the 'From the Heart to Jaffna' program series, organized by the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat to bring the 'Clean Sri Lanka' initiative to the Tamil community in the Northern Province, was held on 15th August 2025.
Aiming to address common issues faced by the Tamil community, the Clean Sri Lanka mobile service was conducted on 15th morning at the premises of the Uduvil, Valikamam South Divisional Secretariat Office.
To provide solutions to day to day problems faced by the tamil people, various Government institutions participated in this mobile service program. Services offered included issuance of national identity cards, services from the Department of Motor Traffic, assistance for small and medium-scale enterprises, and services provided under local Government Authorities.
In line with this, the second stage of distributing bicycle tires for schoolchildren from low-income families also took place.
Additionally, with the sponsorship and support of the Coconut Cultivation Board, Tamil people received coconut saplings. A range of other services, including the distribution of eyeglasses, were also provided.
This program, held under the leadership of Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Mr. Ramalingam Chandrasekar, was attended by Hon. S. Bawanandharaj, Member of Parliament for Jaffna District, and Hon. N. Vedanayagam, Governor of the Northern Province.
Also present were Northern Province Chief Secretary Ms. Thanuja Murugesan, Jaffna District Secretary Mr. M. Pradeepan, and the Divisional Secretary of Uduvil, Valikamam South, among others.
Representing the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, Director (Ethics) Mr. Dulip Somarathna, Assistant Secretary of the Public Empowerment Secretariat Mr. N. Sanjeepan, and others were also in attendance.
