On November 10, 2025, the training programme series aimed at enhancing the ethics and quality of three wheeler (Tuk Tuk) drivers in the tourism sector under the "Clean Sri Lanka" national programme inaugurated a new phase. The event was held at the auditorium of the Sigiriya office maintained under the Central Cultural Fund.
This significant initiative was organized by the Central Province Department of Trade, Commerce, and Tourism along with the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat with the goal of uplifting the professional conduct and service standards of drivers serving tourists across the region. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the Officer in charge of the Sigiriya Tourist Police, the Information Officer and Project Manager of the Sigiriya office of the Central Cultural Fund, along with Provincial Coordinators from the Central Province Tourism Department.
The programme reflects a nationwide commitment to promoting professionalism, courteous service, and ethical behavior among three wheeler drivers, which is vital for bolstering Sri Lanka’s image as a safe, welcoming, and responsible tourist destination.
Through these ongoing training sessions, drivers are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver high quality service, ensuring a positive experience for both domestic and international visitors. This initiative is part of a broader national effort under the Clean Sri Lanka campaign to foster sustainable tourism and raise the standards of public service.
