The inaugural ceremony of the "Soba Sipwadula" project, implemented by the Sri Lanka Hadabima Authority under the "Clean Sri Lanka" programme, was held on October 2 at Ratmalana Hindu College.
The project aims to nurture an environmentally sensitive generation that cherishes nature by developing green zones and establishing classrooms in 50 selected schools. This initiative is a collaborative effort involving the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation, Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Training, Sri Lanka Hadabima Authority, and S-Lon PLC's tree foster care programme.

Simultaneously, inauguration ceremonies for school green zones were held in eight other provinces under the leadership of respective Governors.
The event was graced by Parliamentarians Hon. Lakshman Nipunarachchi and Hon.
