Clean Sri Lanka Special Mobile Service program Brings Registrar General’s Public Services Closer to Villages in Northern Province

Clean Sri Lanka Gamin Gamata RGD Mobile Service

As part of the “A Happy Country Clean Sri Lanka From Village to Village” initiative, a special public mobile service program led by the Registrar General’s Department has been actively delivering vital services across districts. Centered at District Secretariat offices and guided by Registrar General Ms. S. Jaladeepan, this outreach effort aims to make official registrations and certifications easily accessible to residents in remote areas.

In a recent event held at the Oddusuddan Divisional Secretariat in Jaffna District, locals benefited from a wide range of services. A total of 73 birth and death certificates were successfully registered, while 14 unmarried cohabiting couples officially registered their marriages, receiving marriage certificates on the spot. The program also provided several other specialized public services tailored to community needs.

Deputy Registrar General of the Northern Province, Mr. P. Prabhakar, played an active role during the event alongside the Oddusuddan Divisional Secretary, Assistant Divisional Secretary, and Additional District Registrar. Their joint efforts underline the government’s commitment to bringing essential civil documentation services directly to people's doorsteps, improving convenience and efficiency.

The ongoing mobile service program embodies the spirit of grassroots engagement and reflects the broader goals of the Clean Sri Lanka campaign by strengthening administrative support and community connectivity across the country.
