Under the Clean Sri Lanka National program, the first phase of the Colombo District Special Public Service Mobile Program was recently launched at the Colombo District Secretariat premises (Nila Medura) under the theme "A Happy Country – Clean Sri Lanka from Village to Village." Marking the beginning of the initiative, a Vocational Employment Fair was held on the first day, attracting a large number of young job seekers and candidates from various vocational training institutions within the district.

The inauguration ceremony featured prominent attendees including Hon. Lakshman Nipunarachchi, Chairman of the Colombo District Coordination Committee and Member of Parliament, Hon. Devananda Suraveera, Member of Parliament, and Hon. Hemanta Weerakoon, Deputy Mayor of the Colombo Municipal Council.

Distinguished officials such as Mr. Sumana Aloka Bandara, Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, Mr. Nalaka Kaluwawwa, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education; District Secretary Mr. Ginige Prasanna Janaka Kumara, along with other government officers, divisional secretaries, and representatives from both state and private universities and vocational training institutes also actively participated in the event.
