In coordination with the Clean Sri Lanka national program, the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board and the Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat recently organized an impactful drug prevention and awareness campaign.
Focused on building a drug-free society, the initiative centered on Bulathkohupitiya town and featured a compelling street drama performance to engage and educate the public about the dangers of drug abuse.
The campaign witnessed active participation from officials representing key government institutions, including the Bulathkohupitiya Divisional Secretariat, the Sri Lanka Police, and the Medical Officer of Health Office. The event also drew a significant turnout from community members—comprising civil defense committee members, elders’ societies, and various youth groups—reflecting strong local commitment to combatting drug addiction.
This collaborative effort marks a vital step toward fostering healthier and safer communities by raising public awareness and encouraging collective action against substance abuse.
