Under the "From the Heart to Jaffna" program, a first aid training workshop and practical activities for school children were conducted on 19th August at Vadamaraachchi Hindu Girls' College in Jaffna.
Around 100 students participated in the training, which was provided by officers from the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society. The workshop covered emergency care, basic first aid, and special activities related to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. This was a one-day training program.
The event was attended by Valikamam Pradeshiya Sabha Member Ramanan, Assistant Director Nishantha Alwis from the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, Principal Krishnalatha Kulasingham of Vadamaraachchi Hindu Girls' College, Deputy Director of Education Arandawa Selvami, and other dignitaries.
Vadamaraachchi Hindu Girls' College is an over 60-year-old institution in Jaffna, educating about 1,000 students.
