Soft Skills of School Children

The national program titled “Ethics in Action – NextGen Leaders,” aimed at promoting attitude and personality development among school children, was ceremonially launched from the Central Province.

Implemented under the Clean Sri Lanka National Initiative, the program represents the Ethical Pillar, one of its three core pillars, and aspires to bring about a positive social transformation through the cultivation of ethics among younger generations.

The inaugural ceremony was held on October 25 at the auditorium of St. Sylvester’s College, Kandy, under the patronage of the Governor of the Central Province, Professor S. B. S. Abeykoon.

Designed to enhance soft skills among schoolchildren, the program also focuses on developing leadership potential and ethical awareness. It further aims to instill self discipline, nurture positive attitudes toward schools and the motherland, and strengthen parental engagement and awareness for the holistic development of children.

Students representing the five educational zones of Kandy, Wattegama, Katugastota, Teldeniya, and Hanguranketha participated in the Central Province program launch.

The event was graced by the Chief Secretary of the Central Province, Mr. Ajith Premasinghe, Secretary to the Ministry of Education of the Central Province, Ms. Madhupani Piyaseana, Provincial Director of Education, Mr. Nihal Alahakoon along with other distinguished officials and invitees.
