Next Gen Eastern

The Eastern Province launch of the NextGen Leaders program was held on 30th October at the Trincomalee Hindu National School. The event was inaugurated under the leadership of Eastern Province Governor Hon. Jayantha Lal Ratnasekara. This program is planned to be expanded throughout all government schools island wide as part of the national Clean Sri Lanka initiative.

Recognized as one of the three main pillars of the Clean Sri Lanka program, the ethical pillar seeks to foster positive social change by targeting school children. Approximately 100 students from 10 selected schools in the educational zones of Trincomalee, Kinniya, and Mutur participated in this event. The program was conducted in the Tamil medium, engaging Tamil speaking children with plans to hold three more such programs in Tamil and two in Sinhala, thereby covering all government schools across the Eastern Province.

The event was attended by several dignitaries including Additional Director of Education Mr. Nimal Ranjan from the Eastern Province Department of Education, directors from the education zones of Trincomalee, Kinniya, and Mutur, the principal of Trincomalee Hindu School, and many other distinguished guests. The program emphasizes leadership and ethical development among students aligned with the broader goals of fostering a socially responsible and environmentally conscious future generation for Sri Lanka.
