Welcome to Clean Sri Lanka

Second phase of the "Clean Sri Lanka" urban forest project commenced in Thotalanga.

The second phase of the urban forest creation project under the "Clean Sri Lanka" initiative commenced on the morning of the 17th near the Bus Stand on Sirimavo Bandaranaike Mawatha, Thotalanga.

As part of this phase, trees have been planted on land owned by the Colombo Municipal Council in Thotalanga, transforming the area into a protected urban forest cultivation zone. A notable aspect of the project is the involvement of students from Sri Sanghabodhi Maha Vidyalaya, Madampitiya, who have been entrusted with the responsibility of caring for and safeguarding these environmentally valuable trees.

During the event, gifts and certificates were presented to the dedicated student caretakers in recognition of their commitment.

The project is a collaborative effort combining the "Tree Planter" program, managed by S-Lon Lanka Pvt Ltd of the Capital Maharaja Group of Companies, with the "Clean Sri Lanka" Secretariat. It operates under the direct guidance of the Presidential Secretariat and includes wide-ranging participation from both government and private sectors, such as the Road Development Authority, Urban Development Authority, and the Colombo Municipal Council.
