“Shrama Meheyuma” National Programme

 “Shrama Meheyuma” National Programme commenced on 04th July morning at the Gamipaha Technical Training Institute premises. A total of 311 vocational training centers were actively participating in this initiative.

By undertaking physical development activities at these vocational training centers, the program aims to create a comfortable and attractive learning environment. It also seeks to raise awareness among students, teaching staff, and administrative officers engaged in vocational education about the Clean Sri Lanka programme. This initiative is implemented as a series of conceptual development programs to nurture responsible and quality-conscious citizens.

At present, this program provides an opportunity to develop over one hundred thousand students, who are expected to integrate into society as skilled professionals across various fields, into conceptually developed individuals. The “Shrama Meheyuma” program is implemented as a national initiative under the Secretariat of Clean Sri Lanka.

Under this program, activities such as internal and external cleaning, painting, renovation of safety fences, plastering of walls, regularization of internal  roadlanes, construction of vehicle parks, garden beautification, economic crop cultivation, renovation of lighting systems, installation and maintenance of internal calling devices and Renovation of Ceilings and roofs  will be carried out.

The program receives support from several government institutions, including the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Training, and the Sri Lanka Army.
