As part of the "From the Heart to Jaffna" program, a workshop on music and movement therapy for stress management and mental well-being was held on the evening of August 13 at the Jaffna Military Security Headquarters. The workshop was designed for officers and personnel from the Sri Lanka Army, Navy, and Air Force, with around 350 participants attending.
The session combined theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, focusing on concept development, fostering positive thinking, promoting mental health, emotional regulation, and effective stress management techniques.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Madhura Gunawardhana, an external lecturer in clinical psychology at the University of Colombo. Practical activities were facilitated by members of the "Sith Nivana" group.
The event was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Mr. Dasun Wijesekera, Director (Coordination) of the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat; Mr. Dulip Somaratne, Director (Ethics); Brigadier Kamal Amarasinghe, Commander of the Jaffna Security Forces Headquarters; Brigadier Mahesh Gunasekara, Brigadier of Command and Staff; and other officers and officials from the Jaffna Security Forces Headquarters.
