“Take Care” Road Safety Programme Successfully Held at Maliyadewa Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala

The 26th edition of the “Take Care” road safety awareness programme was successfully conducted on 10th September 2025 at Maliyadewa Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala. This ongoing initiative is a collaborative effort organized by the Clean Sri Lanka Secretariat, Independent Television Network (ITN), and the Sri Lanka Police.

The programme aims to raise awareness among schoolchildren and the wider community about the importance of road safety, promoting responsible behavior to prevent accidents and save lives. Through interactive sessions and demonstrations, participants are educated on traffic discipline, adherence to traffic laws, and safe road practices.

“Take Care” has become a vital part of the national campaign under the Clean Sri Lanka initiative to foster a culture of safety and ethical road use across Sri Lanka. The collaborative efforts of the organizing partners underscore the commitment to engage younger generations and instill lifelong values of road safety and responsibility.

The event at Maliyadewa Balika Vidyalaya witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, educators, and community members, reflecting the growing momentum of the “Take Care” campaign island-wide.
